What a great weekend we had!
Lauren was in town this weekend, but OF COURSE, I didn't take one single picture. I hate when I do that. However, hopefully she'll be visiting much more frequently in the coming months, and we'll make up for it! ;)
All year long Zach and I look forward to Michael's New Years Eve party! It's a guaranteed night out without the kids, we get all dressed up (some years more than others), get to catch up with lots of friends we don't see as often as we would like, eat some of the most amazing food, and are in awe that every single year the decor is bigger, better, and more brilliant! Love, love, love NYE!
Honey and Poppa bravely agreed to take all three of our kids for the night, including Jack who is not consistently sleeping through the night, and much prefers eating from Momma. We started "bottle boot camp" two weeks before. Although it felt like a lot more work to pump after every feeding to store up a reserve, and endure crying and screaming during his nightly bottle practice, it payed off. Jack got better every feeding, as long as he wasn't already too hungry, already upset, and I wasn't within sight.
I'm proud to report that Jack gulped down all three of his bottles, and the only (almost) crying was from Honey who lost 3 oz of milk due to a leaky bottle :) She knows all about pumped milk being like liquid gold.
Jack with his first over-night babysitters...the best ones around!

Our first date in 3 months!
At the party, there was lots of sequins, sparkle, fur, and jewels...per the invitation.
Here's Michael on the dance floor!
(please excuse all my cell pics, dark and a little blurry are better than no pictures, yes?)
Most of the party was outside, and if it weren't for the cold, you wouldn't even know it. The fences were covered in luxurious fabric, the couches and chairs were beautifully covered, there were canopies hung with chandeliers and twinkle lights, and rugs, lamps, and candles were everywhere. It was simply amazing!
Of course, the sparkly ball!
one of the drink stations
There were 6 seating areas, all different. All amazing!
My new friends I met: Elizabeth and Shelly. These ladies were SO much fun and hilarious, we're already making plans to meet again at Michael's summer party!
The food table. I won't lie, I've been kicking myself ever since that I didn't go back and get seconds. Or thirds. Or even touch the dessert table. What was I thinking?!
The big champagne bottle...I think it's been somewhere at every NYE party.
More strangers on the dance floor...I was NOT out there this year, ha!
More decor
I got to kiss this handsome man at midnight for the 6th time.
Funny side note, (to me anyway): Instead of toasting to "No more divorces in '99!" (a NYE Friends reference), we toasted to "No more babies in 2012!"
We are happy with our little completed family!
Zach, Jay, and Will.
The Host-with-the-Most
Another shot with Shelly, Elizabeth, and Michael.
Funny part is, I didn't take any pictures of our friends we've known for years. Oops!
And here's a picture Honey texted me of our three little blessings in the morning.
What a fun night to ring in 2012, it's going to be a great year!
